- “[Alvin] was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He had been a resident of Howard County since 1956, coming from Crane. He worked at Webb Air Force Base for five years. In 1961, he began work as a welder at Cosden and retired from Fina in 1985. He was a past president of the Big Spring Squares, and he was a past president of the Westerners Square and Round Dance Association. He was a member of the Wednesday morning Cosden coffee club at the Northside Dairy Queen ‘aka The Liars Club’.” [2]
