    • “Sidney was married to Agnes (Sue) Theresa Kleypas on April 7, 1947, and began farming in Wall and working at the Wall Gin. He moved his family to St. Lawrence in 1955 until his retirement at the age of 70.

      “While in St. Lawrence, he was an active member of his community. He played an integral role in getting an army surplus building moved from Midland airport to be used as the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He was on the founding committee of the National Cotton Council and was President of the St. Lawrence Men’s Society a number of years. He served on the Garden City School Board for 9 years as President and was active in the 4-H leadership in Glasscock County. He was very active in sports and played on a basketball team well into his thirties. Sidney won Texas Conservationist of the Year Award.”
