    • “The Rev. Garlington taught school for 28 years, retiring from the Bowie school district in 1971. He started the special education program in the Bowie school district.

      “The Rev. Garlington was also principal of high schools in Hawley and Rule. He was pastor of several small Baptist churches in Montague County and retired after 17 years at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church near Bowie. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, American Association of Retired Persons and Montague Genealogical Society.” [4]
