  • Notes
    • “A graduate of Central High School in Crookston and the University of Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis, Ralph attended Columbia University in New York City and became a Navy Lieutenant in World War II, serving in the Pacific for two years.
“He helped run family businesses in Crookston, including Otto J. Eickhof & Sons, a general construction company; The Crookston Millwork, a fine wood cabinet manufacturer; and Union Redi-Mix, a ready-mix concrete delivery company; and was president of Red River Alfalfa, an alfalfa dehydrating company, and Minn-Dak Mack Trucks, a Mack Trucks dealership. In later years, Ralph owned and operated trucking companies that included Sugarlines in Hillsboro, ND, Banana Transport in Tampa, FL and Truck Fax in San Francisco, CA; and, until most recently, was a broker for Sureway Transportation in St. Cloud, MN (where Ralph was honored as the company’s oldest living employee before his passing).
“Ralph was active in civic and church affairs. He was president of the American Dehydrators Association, when it met in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1964. In Crookston, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as president of the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce and Crookston Jobs, Inc. He was also a director of the Polk County State Bank, American Federal Savings and Loan, and Minnesota Association of Commerce and Industry.
“A private pilot who lived life as if the sky were the limit, Ralph enjoyed family vacations, golfing, swimming and spending time with his family and friends at his homes at Union Lake near Erskine, MN and Boca Raton, FL.” [3]
