- Buddy worked for 23 years for M. E. Ruby Highway Construction in Austin where he worked he his way up to foreman. One of the highways he helped build was IH-10 between San Antonio and Houston. He returned home to Gonzales in 1963 where he built and maintained chicken houses and worked his farm until his retirement in 2000. [1]
