    • “Frank Joe Broz was born February 10th, 1920 in Bleiberville, Texas to Henry and Mary Stasta Broz. He grew up there and attended the Victoria School.

“Pfc Broz served his country in World War II as part of the 88th Infantry Division Blue Devils. He fought in the Rome-Arno campaign in Italy and was awarded the Purple Heart after being seriously wounded by German shell fire on October 9, 1944. After spending almost a year recovering in the hospital, he was honorably discharged on October 12, 1945.

“On September 26, 1946, Frank was united in marriage with Gladys Mattie Macat at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville. They lived in the same farmhouse that he had been born in. He was a farmer and rancher. He liked to hunt and fish and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

“Frank was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and the Immaculate Conception Church in Industry.” [2]
