    • “Sue Lummus Merritt was born Feb. 21, 1913, in Ennis to Andrew Jackson and Laura Frances Warren Lummus. She graduated from Ennis High School in 1931 and was married to Dorsey ‘Tom’ Merritt May 21, 1936, also of Ennis. They lived in Los Angeles, Calif., where Dorsey Merritt was employed with Matson Steam Ship Company until the beginning of World War II. To this marriage were born two children, Miranda and John Merritt. Sue retired from First National Bank in 1975 where she was employed as a supervisor of the safe deposit department. She was a charter member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ from 1951 to 1994 when Meadowbrook Church of Christ merged with Bridgewood Church of Christ.” [3]
