Notes |
- “Kathleen was born September 26, 1922 in Call, Texas. She was a cheerleader in high school. After graduating high school, she attended business college in Houston. Subsequently, she worked at Texaco in Houston. She married her high school sweetheart, Luther Lee Dockery, and after World War II they settled in Kirbyville where they raised their family of five. Kathleen was a wonderful and devoted mother to our family supporting her children in their many and varied activities…sports, church, scouting, school activities, band. Mama loved to dance and could dance a mean jitterbug. She always looked forward to the Marine Corps Ball where she danced the opening dance with her son, Col Charles Dockery, to the Tennessee Waltz. She loved to play cards and games, garage sales, bingo, Walmart and crocheting. Many friends and families treasure the various crocheted items received from our Mama. She was generous to a fault.” [2]
