Notes - Aulcy arrived in Dimmit County from Atascosa County with his family in 1897. He remained in the area the rest of his life. He attended the Salt Branch School during the time his father farmed the I. J. Webb place, located about three miles north of Carrizo Springs. The family moved to Bermuda in Dimmit County when Aulcy was 19 years old. At that time he began courting the girl who would become his wife.
Aulcy and Fannie were married after taking a buggy to Asherton, then a train to Cotulla. After marrying, he took a job on a ranch outside of Aguilares, remaining there until shortly after the birth of their twin sons. The sons were born while visiting Fannie’s brother, John.
