  • Notes 
    • “Paul Henry, after graduating from La Grange High School came to live with his Uncle Axel Meerscheidt’s family in San Antonio. There he attended Alamo Business College from which he graduated.

      “He worked in the County Tax Assessor’s office under his Uncle Paul Meerscheidt. Later he became business manager and clerk of the San Antonio Independent School District, a position he held for 32 years. After a severe illness he went to work for Paul Anderson Co. as cashier and auditor.

      “His hobbies were playing handball and volleyball, at both of which he excelled. He was also a great reader and loved to travel. His interest in Rotary Club was great and he served as Executive Secretary for 17 years. He was also a member of the Masonic order.

      “Throughout his marriage he was a devoted husband and father to his daughter. He passed away as a result of cancer.”

      Paul was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio and the San Antonio Knife and Fork Club. [13, 17]
