    • “Walter served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He received six Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He worked at Caterpillar for 35 years in the tool crib and retired in 1980. He was past commander of Morton VFW Post 5921 and was a lifetime member of East Peoria VFW Post 2078. Walter was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Peoria.” [1]
