Notes - J. D. “Deal” Fellers was raised by his aunt, Annie Dyal Fellers, after the death of his parents. He worked for Rainbow Bakery in San Antonio, Texas for a time before going to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone. He retired from Southwestern Bell as a Special Systems Technician on 5 Mar 1987. He had served the company for 37 years. During retirement, he and Coriene traveled across the western parts of the U.S. in their motor home. They often took their grandchildren along. He was a member of the Communications Workers of America, the Sons of the Pioneers, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pleasant Valley Cemetery Association, and CWA Local 6132. [8, 9]
