  • Notes
    • Florence and her Uncle Charley Dyal wrote a letter to her uncle, Willie Jackson, telling him that they were going about picking cotton. The letter was written September 11, 1904 from their campsite on the Guadalupe River at Waring, Texas in Kendall County. Five days later she wrote another letter, this time to her Aunt Mary Etta Jackson. They were located about a quarter-mile east of Waring and were going to pick cotton for a Mr. Hinds. Apparently it was her first time to see the Hill Country, which she referred to as “the mountains.” Uncle Willie Jackson and Fred had just arrived at the campsite. Charley and Leona Dyal, and Hence, Kate, and Ida Adams were also there. [9]
