- George “graduated in 1938 from Rusk High School and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a crew chief on a fighter-bomber and flew more than 200 missions over Europe. He received several medals, including the EAME Service Ribbon, Distinguished Unit with one Silver Star, and four Bronze Stars. He then worked for Humble Oil and Refining Co., and retired from Exxon after 31 years service. He was a consultant for a Danish oil company and a member of Forest Home Baptist Church, taught the Sanctuary Class, and was on board of directors at Baywood County Club in Houston. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge No. 1120 in Jourdanton.” [1]
