  • Notes 
    • Adolph Kneip was married in 1870 to Elise Huth who died in 1878 leaving three young sons, Carl, Adolph, and Heinrich. Adolph came to Texas from Germany with his parents and four brothers, one of whom died in the Civil War. They lived on a farm in Fayette County that they had purchased in 1852. His father died in 1866 and his mother in 1896 when the three surviving sons and their families were still living on the family farm. They lived in peace as one large group on the family land for forty-four years.
