    • Richard "Dick" Whitehead joined the United States Navy during World War II after having attended Wabash College in Indiana. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of New Mexico after his discharge from the military. He was a buyer for Tri State Grocers and became a manager in the company after he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He later became an insurance manager for the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States.
