    Military “After basic training in 1942 at Camp Roberson, AR, he was reassigned to Schofield Barracks Hawaii. He transferred to Wheeler Field and was an armament inspector in the 371st Bomb Squadron. He went through pilot training in Vernon, TX, Enid, OK, and Victoria, TX. He trained in B-24's in MS, TX and KS. In 1945 he was assigned to Ellington Field, TX as an instructor pilot. He transferred to Peru as instructor to the Peruvian AF, and later to Lima, Peru as Operations Officer and pilot for the USAF mission. 1947 he transferred to Randolph AFB as a primary flight instructor. 1948 he was assigned to the Berlin airlift at Wiesbaden Air Base. He flew over 100 missions in C-47 and C-54 aircraft. He then transferred to Mather AFB as instructor pilot, base operations officer, and aide-de-camp. In 1952 he accompanied Major Gen. Lacey to Randolph AFB as pilot and aide. In 1953 he accompanied General Lacey to Korea. His next assignment was McClellan AFB with the 552nd Command and Control Wing. In 1959 he was assigned to HQ ADC as project officer for the follow on AEW& C aircraft. His next assignment was assistant DCO and DCO at Thule Air Base. He then was Chief of Operations at Ent AFB. He then went to Wiesbaden Air Base as assistant and later Wing DCO. He served a short tour in Vietnam as base commander. He retired at McClellan AFB in Nov 1973. During his career he flew James Roosevelt, Joe E. Louis, all ranks of general officers, Vice President Agnew and family and two presidents of Germany. He logged over 15 thousand accident free hours.”  [1
