    • A letter Charley wrote to his brother-in-law, Willie Jackson, states that he was in Waring, Texas to pick cotton. The letter was written September 11, 1904 from his campsite on the Guadalupe River. His niece, Florence Miller, was with him. Her letter to Mary Etta Jackson five days later indicates that Charley’s wife, Leona, was with them, too. [12]
