    • Mills graduated from Holtville High School in Elmore County, Alabama, in 1957. He was a National Merit Scholar and an eagle scout. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Huntingdon College in Montgomery.

      Mills worked as a journalist in the south for many years. He was also employed as a civilian by the U.S. Army for 23 years. He resided in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, for 25 years where he worked as a volunteer and was a paid Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic. He was a founder and former Chief of Operations of the Chambersburg Area Advanced Life Support Service. [1]
