• Notes

  Sam began school at Alleyton, Texas, but after first grade he attended school in La Grange. After marrying Eunice in the living room of her parents’ home, they made eleven moves over a three year period. Stops included Johnson City, Coleman, Eastland, Goldthwaite, and Palo Pinto as Sam was a young County Agricultural Agent at that time. After returning to La Grange, he along with his wife and parents, worked hard during the war years to produce food supplies, especially milk, under the name Rosenberg Farms. In 1949 he left the farm and became a Dairy Extension Marketing Specialist with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service at Texas A&M. The family moved to Bryan for two years but returned to La Grange. There Sam began trying to gain a better market for dairy farmers and promoting the use of dairy products. During this time Sam served as Regional Director for the American Dairy Association. [12]
