“At the age of four, she and her parents moved to Houston where she lived the remainder of her life. She attended Reagan High School and Rice (Institute) University, graduating in October of 1944. Upon graduation she went to work at Humble Oil and Refining Company where she met John Ernest McCleary, who had just returned from the service. They married in September of 1946 and were blessed to share 45 years in loving marriage. John died December 20, 1991. Later she married Thomas Adkins, M.D. who predeceased her.”
