    Notes:

    Columbus Burns was the first Anglo child born in the Green DeWitt Colony.

    He was a stock farmer, soldier for the Confederate Army, traildriver, and inspector of livestock. During the Civil War, Burns' assignment was scout duty under the command of Colonel Rip Ford.

    The family moved from Burns Station to Concrete to enroll the children in school.

    After the death of his first wife, Mary Ann DeMoss Burns, he married Mrs. Martha E. Harris (28 Oct 1834 - 26 May 1880).
