“[Louise’s] father followed construction and as a result, she spent most of her childhood traveling throughout Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Her family eventually settled in Odessa where she graduated from Odessa High School in 1950. In 1951, she married William Maurice Spratlen. He preceded her in death in 1997 after almost 46 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister (Mildred Clemmons) and a brother (Charles D. Bearden). She enjoyed quilting, needle work, sewing and many other crafting activities. She made sure all of her family members had a piece of her handiwork. She was very active in the Northside Senior Citizens’ group and loved going to different places participating in their line-dancing demonstrations. She was also a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.”
